Sacred Heart and St. Francis Catholic Church

From Saturday 4th July we are permitted to gather for Mass.

Weekday Masses will be scheduled (please check Newsletter). There will be no Services of Liturgy & Holy Communion for the time being.

Sunday Masses will take place with a reduced congregation – social distancing means that we can only have a maximum attendance equal to 25% of usual size. Places will be allocated week-by-week according to surname (check Newsletter).

If you are classed as vulnerable by virtue of health or age, or are displaying signs of COVID-19 please stay away (the dispensation from the obligation of attendance at Mass will stand for the time being).

1. Come early to ensure you are in your place well before Mass begins.
2. Bring your own face mask or covering.
3. Observe social distancing.
4. Use the hand sanitiser on entering and leaving church.
5. Follow the directions of the Stewards on duty.
This policy will be reviewed at the end of July.

(Social Distancing requirements)

A to D- please attend on *4/5 July
E to K- *11/12 July
L to R- *18/19 July
S to Z- *25*26 July
*Frinton Vigil Mass or Sunday Mass at Frinton or Dovercourt.

I know it’s difficult to restrict your attendance to once a month, but we need to protect one another and stay safe.

I’m confident you’ll respond with typical generosity.

Thank you,
Fr Frank

May we who are merely inconvenienced
Remember those whose lives are at stake.

May we who have no risk factors
Remember the most vulnerable.

May we who have the luxury of working from home
Remember those who must choose between their health or making their rent.

May we who have the flexibility to care for our children when schools close
Remember those who have no options.

May we who have to cancel our trips
Remember those who have no place to go.

May we who are losing our margin money in the tumult of the economic market
Remember those who have no margin at all.

May we who settle in for a quarantine at home.
Remember those who have no home.

As fear grips our country,
Let us choose love.

During this time when we cannot wrap our arms around each other,
Let us find ways to be the loving embrace of God to our neighbours.

Please find a link to the Diocesan news page, where we have published an article with recommendations for parents with school-aged children to enable them to continue to worship in the home, and continue to mark the season of Lent / Easter period with their families without gathering publicly for mass.
